Built by Bossoms Boatyard, Oxford (1959)
A rare chance to own a classic British cruiser with pedigree, history, and proven cruising ability.
Plover B was built in 1959 by the renowned Bossoms Boatyard near Binsey, Oxford, using Utili for her hull planking, cabin sides, and main structures, with laminated frames throughout. Her elegant lines and quality build were recognised early on with a feature in Motor Boat & Yachting (February 1959) and later celebrated in Classic Boat (June 2002).
Carefully maintained by her current custodians since 2015, Plover B has cruised extensively on the Thames, Wey Navigation, and the canal network. She has completed multiple long-distance voyages of more than 500 miles and hundreds of locks — clear proof of her reliability and practicality as both a river and canal cruiser.
Compact yet comfortable, Plover B offers a 3-berth layout, practical proportions for inland cruising, and the reassurance of long-term, knowledgeable ownership. Her blend of heritage, usability, and charm makes her an appealing choice for anyone looking to enjoy classic boating with confidence.
She is now ready to be handed to her next custodian — someone who will value both her history and her enduring ability as a dependable, enjoyable cruiser.
