This is a really cute and usable contemporary classic with an easy to maintain finish and seating for four. She was built in 2004 by her talented owner who is a serial amateur boatbuilder. In this particular case he commissioned a design from the ubiquitous Andrew Wolstenholme who is a keen proponent of electric propulsion. Peter built the hull using cedar strip planking and epoxy to minimise ongoing maintenance. As can be seen in the photos the decks and interior are fitted out in mahogany, some of which is marine ply (bulkheads) and some solid wood (decks and seating)
At the time of the build he installed a 1.4 kw 48 volt Best electric motor which was refurbished in 2023 to include new bearings and then in 2024 Henley Technical Services replaced the charger. This year new batteries with a capacity of 160 Ah have been replaced too. This should ensure trouble free running for a new owner for many years to come.
Arthur B has a good trailer and is available for viewing locally. The BSS is valid through to 2028 and the licence for the Thames to December 2025.
Given the construction and the trailer option Arthur B would be happy living in someone's drive for occasional use with no worries about water ingress due to the modern building technique.
Peter says that this is the third boat he has built and is only for sale now because he is completing the build of his fourth!
