An immaculate Storebro from an enthusiast well known to HSC as we previously sold his magnificent launch Albatros which is now moored at the Langdale Chase on Lake Windermere where she is available for charter.
The Solo, his smaller dayboat, is powered by a VA 95 1.9 TDI 4 stroke turbo diesel which is designed to move the boat efficiently through, canals, rivers, lakes or on the Scandinavian archipelagoes for which she was originally designed. Owners with a holiday home would jump on board to dash to their island home in comfort and as quickly as possible. During the painstaking restoration carried out in an excellent traditional yard in Amsterdam, the current owner insisted that the boat be kept as originally designed during the restoration to respect its origins. However he did ask for a thoroughly modern reimagining of the electrics!
A total of 2800 of this model, the Baltic 24, were built and we have the original sales brochure with the hull number 948 inscribed on it. The sheer volume tells you how popular this model was. One can only presume that the Solo Ruff version was an extra special model. The cockpit has good covers in two parts for full weather protection and comfortably seats six.
Annemijn can be viewed indoors at the boatyard where she is stored. We can also organise a video viewing if the trip is a disincentive.
