A contemporary take on a slipper stern launch built by a talented amateur to a high standard and fitted with an electric propulsion system, Wattie is the second electric home-build to come to our attention in the past two years. The previous one sold by HSC was named Lady Susan after the builder's wife and it is true to say that he worked on her for a decade enjoying the memory of his happy marriage. It takes some courage and determination to undertake the build of a decent sized motorboat. Wattie is also testament to the craftsmanship of a talented amateur builder whose other creations include an aeroplane! The plans
An excellent De Graaff trailer with bunks is part of the sales package enabling a new owner to keep the boat at home for occasional launching if a permanent mooring is unavailable or simply to facilitate storage during the winter. The vendor has supplied a full dossier with a wiring diagram and a great deal of detail including on the installation of the bilge pump and the hydraulic steering. He tells me that the model of Torqeedo motor he chosee (2kw) has a mobile phone app showing battery condition, location etc. The bilge pump and navigation lights run off a separate 12 volt battery which can be connected to the 24 volt system via an inverter. The system is designed to run for a full day at river speed before needing to plug in for recharging.
On the Selway Fisher plans website I found some photos of Wattie following her launch in 2017 and a full spec:

Hence you could save yourself weeks, nay years, by acquiring this lovely beamy slipper which comes complete with 2 chairs, an upholstered aft bench, 4 cushions, a set of fenders and mooring ropes and a silent electric propulsion package. There is also a smart green hood for sun and rain protection which folds over the aft coaming when not in use.
