Sunrise is a beamy, stable clinker day boat built of pitch pine some time in the latter half of the twentieth century. It may have been a Bude one design as there is a mast which has a full set of sails although the mast was cut down to accommodate the passage of Henley bridge when the boat came inland. Sunrise also has a full cockpit cover to protect her from the rain. With a draft of 3ft she is still perfectly capable of her original remit - to transport people on an estuary or at sea. She has very high freeboard and just one aft bench making her ideal as a ferry. Her trusty 36 hp Volvo Penta MD3 pushes her along at hull speed despite her 3.5 tons of planking.
This is a solid and well maintained river or estuary launch with the ability to transport paying passengers or to be fitted out for family use. The current owners have enjoyed using her with their children (now grown) as a family adventure boat, ideal for camping trips.
We can offer you the option of a virtual viewing if this is easier or of course the possibility of a viewing in person on site in Henley where there is a local crane for lifting if a survey is required and of course for transport should you wish to return Sunrise to the sea.
Comes with an EA licence for the Thames and a current Boat Safety Scheme certificate.
