An unusual and roomy slipper stern launch presented post rebuild and in excellent condition afloat on the Thames between Henley and Marlow. Whilst this is neither an Andrews 25 or 30 it has the same sloping slipper stern and long forward deck with added beam giving extra space in the cockpit. Townsend Brothers were also based on the Bourne End reach and were no doubt influenced by their neighbours at Andrews. The lines are reminiscent of a fast launch particularly the bow which has a somewhat racy appeal. Built of mahogany on oak it is believed to be one of two boats built concurrently with just this one remaining about which little is known. The owner is a seasoned Thames boat owner who has recently moved away from the river and talking to him you feel his passion for Thames classics. When he took on Family he was determined to bring her back to life and in that he has certainly succeeded. You can expect acres of shining varnish, comfortable seating and decent covers including a folding pram hood and a tonneau cover.

Seating is on two bench seats fore and aft with one additional Lloyd loom chair. The luxury items include on board lighting within the glove compartments, 4 12 volt dual USB sockets, an Osculati bow mounted LED nav light, a 29 litre 12volt fridge box and real leather cushions as well as removable transparent side windows for the canopy. Under the bonnet is a refurbished BMC Newage Vedette of some 1100 ccs and there is a rope cutter attached to the shaft. The fuel tank holds 30 gallons and is located under the forward deck.BSS and Thames licence current. A trailer is also available if required.
