Swedish Double-Ender (1960)
At 29ft, Frida II is a classic mahogany clinker-built Swedish double-ender, launched in Stockholm in 1960 and powered by a reliable three-cylinder Perkins diesel. She comes with an all-over winter cover, oil cooker, and Wallas stove, and is currently registered under the Boat Safety Scheme.
A familiar and much-loved face on the Thames, Frida II has journeyed from Lechlade down to Henley, delighting many along the way. She has been cherished by her custodians, who speak fondly of the happy years spent aboard. For the current family, she has been outgrown, but they recall with warmth the role she played in their children’s formative years — a boat that became part of family life and the memories that will last forever.
There is something particularly special about Scandinavian wooden boats: the craftsmanship, the seaworthy design, and the graceful lines of the clinker build. Frida II carries all of these hallmarks, combining practicality with timeless beauty. Well-maintained and clearly loved, she is ready for her next chapter — to bring the same joy, adventure, and cherished memories to her new custodians.
