Lady V has been a well known member of the Bates StarCraft family over the last couple of decades when based in Chelsea Harbour she hosted many enjoyable and slightly outrageous parties (or so I am led to believe although sadly I was not one of the guests!).
She was built as Lady Sylvia in 1965 and is unusual in that she has a folding aluminium windscreen and a large aft covered flying bridge with a companion way leading directly into the large saloon with seating on either side. Aft of the saloon and below the flying bridge deck is the spacious main cabin with an enormous sleeping area which could be refitted as comfortable owners quarters. There is storage and a bath so plenty of space to reimagine the aft quarter of the vessel.
Forward of the saloon is the galley which is laid out to port and starboard with a separate head adjacent to the forward double V cabin, again with storage. Below the cabin sole are two Perkins HT6.354 145 hp diesel engines.
The hull is built of double diagonal teak and the decks are also teak although now in need of some restoration. Sadly years of ill health have led to neglect but for a willing enthusiast Lady V offers an opportunity to acquire a super Thames motoryacht which has many years of life left to offer a new owner.
StarCraft benefit from an active owners' club which can be found by following the link below. They attend the Thames Traditional Boat Festival in Henley on Thames in July and can be seen in large numbers at the St Kats Classic Boat Festival in September. All are semi displacement and the larger craft head over the channel on regular occasions, some having been moored in the south of France for long periods.
