Spirit x came into my life in 1990 when exhibiting at the London Boat Show as part of the Steam and Electric Launch Company crew where the boat had been fully restored. At that time we had reengined this historic teak hulled boat with an impressive steam plant and the new owner who bought her off the stand called her Impulse in recognition of the love affair which began on that day. He kept her on the Thames for several years before moving her to the Medway. A few years and one owner later the boat returned to the Thames and was re-engined by Marc Jones at Hambleden Mill Marina who installed a low maintenance diesel engine.

The current owners have been enjoying the boat down on the coastal estuary where she is an unusual site and a real head turner. She is returning to us for resale and will be available with the trailer and a full length winter cover. A three quarter canopy with roll down windows makes this a very comfortable cruising launch.

This is a truly historic boat, extremely comfortable, with seating for 10 and would suit a private owner or a commercial charter company. Spirit X featured in the film 'Boys in the Boat' which is due to hit our screens in early 2024
